One of Australia's leading heat treatment
experts discovered a new way to infuse
coatings onto steel - a low temperature
process that uses a fluidised bed furnace.
VCAMM's materials engineers evaluated
the process and found a substantial
improvement in coating performance
and large potential savings in capital
equipment costs and operating costs.
VCAMM secured Victorian Government
and Federal Government funding, as
well as investing some of our own funds,
and embarked with HARD on the road to
commercialisation.
During the product development process,
The HARD process demonstrated the
ability to deliver improved wear resistance,
reduced temperature distortion, greatly
reduced running costs, faster cycle times
and reduced running costs.
VCAMM is now further contributing to
HARD Technologies' success by negotiating
joint ventures for the marketing of the
HARD Technology process and hardware
in license agreements and joint ventures
across the globe.
