Light metals - aluminium, magnesium, titanium and their alloys, are undergoing a global surge in demand. The potential benefits of these lightweight, high strength materials are enormous. VCAMM-funded researchers are leading the development of these exciting materials and their manufacturing, achieving broader and more rapid uptake in new applications.
Bio-materials, such as foamed, are at the forefront of materials technology. In medical applications, the porous structure of foamed titanium allows for growth of bone into the component, providing greater biological integration.

VCAMM is the Victorian Centre for Advanced Materials Manufacturing. We operate as a 'portal', providing businesses with managed access to Victoria's considerable expertise in the disciplines of advanced materials and advanced manufacturing technologies.

The Victorian Centre for Advanced
Materials Manufacturing (VCAMM) off ers
a one-stop-shop interface, which allows
industry to maximise the potential for
knowledge and technology transfer from
and to the research community.
Our aim is to bring industry challenges into
the research institutions, and the research
knowledge from institutions into industry.
The Victorian Centre for Advanced
Materials Manufacturing (VCAMM)
is funded from a diverse range of
government, Institutional and private
sources. We remain grateful for the
continuing support of the corporate
sector, trusts, foundations, educational
institutions and the Victorian State
Government.
